Next time you do a heart dissection use the inferior to superior transverse sectioning method to better observe the structures
To do this, find the Left Anterior Descending artery on the hearts front surface
Find the apex (bottom pointy tip)
Cut through the heart from the bottom (apex) in 10-15mm thick sections (width of little finger)
Lay out the sections side by side for comparison
You can plot thickness of the walls against against height from apex (most inferior point) up through the ventricle and into the atrium
You can plot thickness of septum
You can also plot circumference of ventricle
This makes a great dissection for triple science students and a level students with the ability to capture and present data in graphs.
Our programmes contain properly lead expert dissections to reveal all of the major components of the organs lead by our expert.
