Pilot training in the UK is expanding from being an elite inaccessible career option to one that is within reach of all students. With the launch of British Airways Speedbird Academy, TUI & Easyjet's publicly stated need for over 1000 new pilots to be trained up annually for the next decade there is a whole new way to train to be a pilot that is either fully funded or available with easy to access finance options for students.
'So you want to be a Pilot?' is a school or college based academically rigorous day long workshop that delivers curriculum linked and aviation related maths and physics based sessions to students at A Level. The sessions are built to match the concepts needed as part of the A Level specifications and give a taster into ground school training provided at CAA Flight Schools in the UK. The content is also married to that needed to pass the Flight School Selection Exam and Interview. The day is delivered by a qualified science teacher and qualified pilot with over 20 years experience in teaching students.
