Our workshops offer a day of high quality education in the sciences produced and delivered by a DBS checked qualified teacher who has over 10 years experience in teaching, an expert in human anatomy and has won numerous awards training professional as high up as the NHS & UK Home Office.
But which students do schools target to take part? Here’s a run down of how some of this years schools have made their event possible…
Teesdale School in Durham booked a Core Event and made up 60 students comprised of year 10 through to year 12. Our anatomist carefully took concepts from both Core and Advanced and blended them to differentiate the session for all students. Students were chosen by the school as those studying the single sciences and interested in healthcare careers and the Sixth From students were all A level biologists. The school covered the event from their internal Pupil Premium budget.
Queen Mary College in Basingstoke take a different approach, they hold an Advanced session annually and choose themselves to cap the numbers at 40. They hold events on a teacher training day each year and ask students to register and collect money for the event cost in full for signing up to take part. The course is fully booked each year and students rate the experience strongly…
Lakes College in West Cumbria run an Advanced event each year for their post 16 nursing cadets, the college funded the event in part and asked students to sign up and contribute a small amount to run the event.
Maelor School in Wrexham booked a Core event for the first time and gave us a top review. Students were sent letters based on being triple single scientists and asked to contribute to the event. They had a full group of 60 sign up and had a wait list. The event happened in the main hall on a normal school day. The cost to the school overall was £0.
Fact…
